Clayton County Inmate Escapes Custody from Southern Regional Medical Center as Sheriff’s Office Launches Search

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office is searching for inmate James Damonte Beasley, who escaped custody while at Southern Regional Medical Center. Beasley, who is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds, was booked in March for a probation violation. This escape follows an incident in late March when another inmate, Kathan Guzman, was mistakenly released before his transfer to prison after being sentenced to life for murder.
