Robert Colt Smith, 32, was convicted of two counts of felony murder and one count of first-degree arson for a fire that killed Andrea Nall, 52, and her mother, Michelle Lacroix, 74, at their Austell home in March 2023. The fire, which Smith set using spray paint as an accelerant, also claimed the lives of eight pets. Smith received two life sentences plus 20 years in prison, highlighting the tragic escalation of domestic violence in this case, as noted by Cobb District Attorney Sonya F. Allen.
