Helio Garcia, a 47-year-old lieutenant with the South Fulton Police Department, was honored at a memorial service on April 16 after he died in a head-on crash while on duty. Family and friends remembered him as a dedicated father and a committed law enforcement officer who played a vital role in the department since its formation in 2018. Garcia was posthumously promoted to captain, and his family was presented with a framed police uniform shirt during the service, as he is remembered for his kindness and bravery.
