DeKalb County Jail Scandal: Inmate Indicted for Fentanyl Overdose Death and Former Deputy Charged in Contraband Case
An inmate and a former sheriff's deputy at the DeKalb County Jail were indicted this week for separate incidents involving illegal contraband. Tobias Woods, 45, faces multiple charges, including felony murder, for allegedly supplying fentanyl to 27-year-old Christon Collins, a U.S. Army veteran who died from an overdose after Woods attempted to conceal the incident. Meanwhile, former jailer Joann Marks, 27, was indicted for engaging in an inappropriate relationship with an inmate and providing contraband items, following an investigation that began after contraband was discovered in an inmate's cell.
