Driver Charged in Fatal Crash That Claimed Life of South Fulton Police Officer Lt. Helio Garcia
Santoria McLean, 31, of Atlanta, is in custody following a head-on crash on Flat Shoals Road on April 15 that resulted in the death of South Fulton police officer Lt. Helio Garcia, 47. McLean has been charged with first-degree vehicular homicide and other offenses after allegedly crossing the center line and striking Garcia's patrol vehicle. During her first court appearance, she was denied bond, while a candlelight vigil is scheduled to honor Garcia, who was posthumously promoted to captain and remembered for his dedication to both his family and the community.
