Federal Appeals Court Questions Racial Bias in Atlanta Airport Searches as Comedians Eric Andre and Clayton English Fight for Justice

Federal appeals court judges in Atlanta expressed skepticism regarding the claims made by comedians Eric André and Clayton English in their lawsuit against Clayton County and several officers. The lawsuit, filed in 2022, alleges that the officers unlawfully targeted Black passengers during searches in jet bridges at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, violating their constitutional rights. During a recent hearing, judges questioned whether the encounters could be considered consensual, as both André and English felt blocked and compelled to comply with the officers' inquiries while boarding their flights.
