Fifth Suspect Arrested in Tragic Shooting Death of Paulding County Boy Zander Whatley as Family Seeks Justice

The mother of 11-year-old Zander Trayvon Jmeer Whatley, who was shot and killed in his home in Paulding County on April 29, 2024, expressed her gratitude on Facebook after the arrest of a fifth suspect, Joseph Tarawalie, on February 13, 2024. The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Tarawalie was extradited and booked into jail, joining four other suspects already indicted on charges including malice murder and aggravated assault. Zander, who was remembered for his vibrant spirit and involvement in school activities, is survived by his large family and was honored with a funeral on what would have been his 12th birthday.
