Former Fulton County Schools Assistant Charged with Sexual Contact with Student
Amanda Katz, a 55-year-old former administrative assistant for Fulton County Schools, was arrested this week and charged with a felony count of improper sexual contact by an employee or agent. An investigation revealed that she had multiple off-site encounters with a 16-year-old student dating back to December. Over a period of nearly two months, Katz exchanged nearly 20,000 texts with the student, including explicit messages. The warrant indicates that these communications raised serious concerns about the nature of their relationship. Katz is accused of having sexual relations with the student, which were described as inappropriate and troubling. The investigation was initiated following reports of suspicious behavior, and police have confirmed that they are treating the case seriously. As a result of these allegations, Katz has been placed on administrative leave from her position. The case is ongoing, and a hearing is scheduled for next month. Authorities are continuing to investigate the extent of the interactions between Katz and the student.
