Former Teacher Sentenced to 33 Years in Prison for Child Pornography Crimes in Georgia Schools

Michael Allen Dendy, a former teacher at Griffin High School and Washington County High School, was sentenced to 33 years in federal prison on October 26, 2023, for producing and distributing child pornography. Dendy, 33, of Milledgeville, pleaded guilty to charges stemming from his use of fake social media accounts to solicit nude images from underage students, which he then uploaded to Discord without their knowledge. Authorities began investigating Dendy after receiving multiple complaints in December 2022, leading to the discovery of numerous electronic devices containing explicit material and conversations with victims.
