A former Woodstock police officer, Grant Matthew Shaw, pleaded guilty on Friday to involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of Emmanuel Millard during an attempted traffic stop in October 2023. Shaw was sentenced to 500 hours of community service after the judge suspended a requested 10-year sentence, which included two years of confinement. The incident occurred after a police pursuit, during which Shaw discharged his weapon, resulting in Millard's fatal injuries two days later.
