Georgia Day Care Shut Down After Teacher Drugged Toddlers With Allergy Medication to Induce Sleep

A day care at Forsyth Methodist Church in Monroe County, Georgia, has been temporarily closed after an investigation revealed that a teacher administered allergy medication to 2-year-olds to induce sleep during naps without parental consent. Two employees, including the teacher Kendasia Hughley and the center's director Cathy Stevick, now face multiple charges, including cruelty to children and failure to report child abuse. The Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning determined that the children were in imminent danger, prompting the closure for 21 days while further investigations are conducted.
