During the three-day Memorial Day weekend, 14 people died in crashes on Georgia roads, an increase from 11 fatalities the previous year, as reported by the state Department of Public Safety. Authorities cited 413 individuals for driving under the influence, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety. Additionally, a separate incident involving three juveniles on a personal watercraft at Lake Oconee resulted in injuries, while a fatal crash in Clayton County claimed the lives of three individuals connected to Stillman College, and a two-vehicle accident in Gwinnett County killed a 6-year-old and a 66-year-old.
