The Georgia State Capitol was evacuated on Thursday afternoon due to an email threat received shortly before 2 p.m. Officers from the Georgia Tech and Georgia World Congress Center police K-9 teams assisted in clearing the building, and it was confirmed shortly after 3 p.m. that there was no actual threat, with the email believed to be a hoax sent to multiple states. Normal operations at the Capitol resumed thereafter.
