On Tuesday, the Georgia Supreme Court ruled that Barron Brantley, accused of strangling Clark Atlanta University student Alexis Janaé Crawford in 2019, cannot prevent jurors from hearing recorded jail calls that may contain self-incriminating statements. The court reversed a Fulton County judge's decision, asserting that Brantley had no reasonable expectation of privacy during calls made from jail to third parties, which were monitored and recorded. Brantley and his then-girlfriend Jordyn Jones, who is also charged in the case, are currently awaiting trial at the Fulton County Jail.
