Gunfire Erupts in Roswell SWAT Standoff Leaving One Dead and Officer Injured During Arrest Attempt

A man is dead and a North Fulton SWAT officer is injured following a shooting during the execution of search and arrest warrants at a Roswell home on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred in the 500 block of Ansley Drive when the suspect, who had multiple firearms-related charges and a violent criminal history, emerged from the back of the house and exchanged gunfire with the SWAT officer. While the officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries from shrapnel, he is expected to recover, and the investigation has been turned over to the GBI.
