Heroic Gwinnett County Dog Sika Honored for Saving Missing Child with Autism
In April, a Gwinnett County child with autism was located by Sika, a 3-year-old Hanoverian hound, who tracked the boy in a roadside ditch after he went missing. Sika, along with Sanford, a therapy dog from the Sugar Hill Marshal's Office, were honored at a ceremony on Wednesday for their contributions to the community, which included Sika finding five missing individuals this year. District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson emphasized the importance of recognizing both human and canine law enforcement officers for their outstanding service.
