Javaris Crittenton Sued by Children of Slain Mother Fourteen Years After Fatal Shooting in Atlanta

Fourteen years after the fatal shooting of Jullian Jones in August 2011, former Los Angeles Lakers player Javaris Crittenton is being sued by her four children for wrongful death. Crittenton, who was sentenced to 23 years in prison and released early in April 2023, admitted to shooting Jones as part of a plea deal, claiming it was an accident. The lawsuit, filed in Fulton County, seeks compensation for medical and burial expenses as well as damages reflecting the value of Jones' life, while Crittenton is also pursuing a separate lawsuit against Fulton County for injuries sustained in a car accident shortly after his release.
