Man Shot Dead Near University of West Georgia Campus in Carrollton as Authorities Search for Suspect
A man was shot and killed near the University of West Georgia campus in Carrollton on Sunday night, with police responding to reports of gunfire at The Reserve Carrollton Apartments shortly before 10:30 p.m. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was found in the parking lot and later pronounced dead at Tanner Medical Center. A white car was seen fleeing the scene, and a 20-year-old suspect was apprehended after sustaining gunshot wounds and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital; neither the victim nor the suspect were students at the university.
