Deion Patterson, charged in a deadly shooting at a Midtown Atlanta medical building, has been deemed not competent to stand trial by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Eric Dunaway. The judge's order indicates that Patterson is unable to understand the charges against him or assist his attorney, leading to his commitment to the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities for further evaluation. Patterson, who allegedly shot and killed Amy St. Pierre and injured four others on May 3, 2023, will have his mental capacity reassessed within 90 days to determine if he can eventually stand trial.
