Mysterious Burned Body Discovered Near Stone Mountain Summit Shocks Hikers and Investigators

A burned body was discovered this morning near the top of Stone Mountain in DeKalb County, prompting an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. A hiker alerted authorities shortly before 8:20 a.m. after finding the body under an overhang, located to the right of the Summit Skyride. Park police spokesperson John Bankhead stated that the area is secluded and emphasized the unusual nature of the scene, while the victim's identity remains undisclosed.
