Shooting at Atlantic Station leaves one dead and two injured in apartment
A shooting occurred inside an apartment at the 17th Street Lofts in Atlantic Station shortly before 6 p.m. on Monday. Atlanta police reported that two men, aged 23 and 26, and a 32-year-old woman were found with gunshot wounds. One bullet traveled through an apartment wall, but fortunately, that unit was vacant. Officials indicated that the incident was contained to the interior of the building, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. The 23-year-old victim was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition but later died; his name has not been released. The other two victims were also taken to a hospital, though their conditions were not disclosed. Police confirmed that businesses in Atlantic Station remained unaffected, aside from the presence of police tape in the area. Police spokesperson Lt. Christopher Butler described the shooting as an isolated incident and stated that investigators are still working to determine the circumstances leading to the shooting. No suspect details have been released at this time.
