KERRVILLE, Texas — Rescuers continued their search on Saturday for over two dozen children missing from a girls' camp after a sudden flood claimed at least 27 lives, including nine children. The Guadalupe River rose rapidly due to a storm, washing away homes and vehicles, while authorities faced scrutiny over the adequacy of flood warnings and preparedness for the area known for its vulnerability to flooding. As search efforts intensified, officials reported that around 850 people had been rescued, but the situation remained dire with ongoing torrential rains and flash flood warnings in effect.
