Tragic Stonecrest Fire Claims Life of Mother as Ex-Boyfriend Arrested for Murder and Arson

Nicole Lebby-Wiley received tragic news at 4 a.m. when she learned her sister-in-law, 48-year-old Stephanie Wiley, had died in a fire at her Stonecrest apartment early on Labor Day. DeKalb County firefighters found Wiley trapped in her bedroom, and investigators suspect her ex-boyfriend, Shawn Fails, intentionally set the fire; he has been arrested and extradited on charges of murder, aggravated assault, and arson. The family is now facing funeral expenses and medical costs for Wiley's son, who was injured while escaping the blaze, prompting them to launch a GoFundMe campaign for assistance.
