Trial Delayed for Edrick Faust in 2001 Murder of UGA Law Student Tara Baker Set to Begin in January

ATHENS — The trial of Edrick Faust, charged with the 2001 murder of University of Georgia law student Tara Baker, has been rescheduled to January 26, 2024, following a request for more time by his defense attorney due to the extensive case files. Faust, arrested in May 2024 after a lengthy investigation, faces multiple charges including malice murder and arson, with new DNA evidence leading to his arrest. During a recent hearing, the judge arranged for accommodations to assist Faust in reviewing his case while denying a motion for paper copies of the files.
