Atlanta Father Convicted in Tragic Death of 4-Year-Old Daughter and Abuse of Two Other Children

Rodney Andre McWeay, an Atlanta man, was convicted on 14 counts, including murder and child cruelty, in connection with the death of his 4-year-old daughter, Treasure McWeay, and the abuse of his two other young children. The children were found severely malnourished and dehydrated, living in conditions where they were denied food and water. McWeay had previously kidnapped the children from their legal guardian and was arrested in December 2023 after officers responded to reports of an unresponsive child.
