Atlanta Honors Brave Officers at Annual Crime is Toast Awards Breakfast Celebrating Heroism and Community Safety
City officials, law enforcement members, and business leaders gathered last week to honor outstanding Atlanta police officers at the Atlanta Police Foundation's annual "Crime is Toast" awards breakfast. Officer Lamar Jacobs received the Medal of Honor for his courageous response to a shooting at a Midtown food court on June 11, where he intervened while off-duty, resulting in the shooter being apprehended. Mayor Andre Dickens praised the police for their efforts in reducing homicides by 21% last year and highlighted the collaborative approach involving community leaders to enhance public safety in Atlanta.
