Cobb County police Chief Stuart VanHoozer, after 35 years in law enforcement, announced his retirement effective at the end of April. VanHoozer, who began his career as a patrol officer in February 1990 and became chief in May 2022, expressed confidence in leaving the department in a strong position with improved crime rates and community trust.
