Atlanta police officers will debut new uniforms inspired by international law enforcement agencies ahead of the 2026 World Cup, according to police Chief Darin Schierbaum. The uniforms, featuring a light blue checkered pattern for visibility, will be introduced in August at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and downtown Atlanta, with no additional funding required for the change. Designed for comfort during long hours in hot weather, the uniforms aim to enhance officer safety while providing a recognizable presence for global visitors.
