Driver Dies After Car Plunges Off 30-Foot Retaining Wall into Gwinnett Townhome

A driver died Wednesday after their vehicle plummeted off a 30-foot-high retaining wall and crashed into the second story of a townhome at 722 Summer Place in Norcross, Gwinnett County. Authorities reported that the car was traveling westbound on Beaver Ruin Road when it struck a median, crossed traffic, and went off the wall, resulting in significant damage to the residence. A female passenger was taken to Northside Hospital Gwinnett, while the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and an investigation is ongoing.
