Fourteen individuals convicted in a federal dogfighting case in Albany have been sentenced to a total of 343 months in prison, as announced by the U.S. Attorney's Office on Thursday. The defendants, including eight from Georgia, were involved in a dogfighting event in April 2022 that was disrupted by law enforcement, leading to the rescue of 78 dogs. In addition to prison sentences, the court ordered restitution for the care of the rescued dogs, though specific amounts were not disclosed.
