Forsyth County Man Sentenced to Life for Father's Murder in Shocking Second Trial Verdict
Rajeev Kumaraswamy, 29, was sentenced to life in prison without parole after being found guilty of malice murder and aggravated assault for the 2021 shooting death of his father, Sadashivia Kumaraswamy. The Forsyth County jury took only 30 minutes to reach the verdict following a trial where it was revealed that an argument led to Rajeev retrieving a gun and shooting his father multiple times. This marks his second conviction for the crime, as he had previously entered a guilty plea in June 2024 before seeking to withdraw it and facing a new trial.
