Forsyth County Teen Released on Bond After Fentanyl Overdose Death of Friend

A Forsyth County teen, Mallery James, 19, was released on a $50,000 bond following her arrest related to the fentanyl overdose death of another teen, Makayla Peacock, 19. Peacock died on June 6 after taking fentanyl-laced pills, which she reportedly purchased from James. James was charged with aggravated involuntary manslaughter after investigators linked her to the sale of the pills, and the two were described as childhood neighbors.
