A Fulton County deputy was shot in downtown Atlanta on Thursday evening, sustaining a gunshot wound to his lower extremity and is currently in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital. The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. near 157 Forsyth Street while the deputy was assisting another officer; he was reportedly struck by gunfire from a moving vehicle, and the suspect(s) fled the scene. This shooting marks the second incident involving law enforcement officers in Fulton County on the same day, following a fatal encounter with a suspect in southwest Atlanta.
