Marietta Residents Raise Concerns Over Recent Immigration Enforcement Actions
Marietta resident Luz Tagle reported that her husband, Jovanny de Jesús Pineda, left early on July 8 for a landscaping job. Shortly after he left, a neighbor informed her that immigration officials were in the area. Concerned for his safety, Tagle tried to call Pineda to warn him. Unfortunately, he was detained by immigration authorities shortly after she reached out. Tagle expressed frustration that many families in her community have been affected by increased immigration enforcement. She mentioned that her husband is currently held at the ICE Stewart Detention Center in South Georgia. The situation has left several families in distress, as they fear for the safety of their loved ones. Tagle's experience highlights the ongoing impact of immigration policies on local communities, particularly in areas like Marietta where enforcement actions have become more frequent.
