Gainesville police investigate shooting that left one dead and another injured
Officers discovered an individual suffering from a gunshot wound shortly after 10 p.m. following a First Friday concert in the Midland area. While patrolling, they were alerted to another nearby shooting victim and began performing life-saving measures. Gainesville police reported that one person was found dead and another injured due to the shooting that occurred late Friday. The initial victim was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where they later died. The second victim was also transported to the hospital but is reported to have non-life threatening injuries. Police have not released information regarding the identities of the victims or any potential suspects. A spokesperson for Gainesville police did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
