Georgia Police Academy Director Fired After Child Molestation Charges in Walton County

Samuel Ray Ham, 59, the division director for the Georgia Police Academy, was fired after being charged with child molestation and aggravated sexual battery involving a 14-year-old girl in Walton County. Authorities stated that the alleged abuse occurred between April 2023 and March 2025, with the victim reporting the incidents to her mother on April 12. Following his arrest at a Waffle House on Spring Street, Ham was terminated for violating employee conduct policies, and he remains in jail without bond as the investigation continues.
