Gov. Brian Kemp suspended Cobb County Superior Court Clerk Connie Taylor from her position on Friday as she faces multiple criminal charges, including allegations of violating her oath of office and instructing an employee to destroy public documents. A three-person panel appointed by the governor determined that the indictment adversely affects the administration of her office, leading to her immediate suspension. Taylor, who has pleaded not guilty and waived her formal arraignment, will remain suspended until her charges are resolved or her term ends on January 1, 2029.
