Griffin Day Care Owner Sentenced to 20 Years for Child Cruelty as Abuse Allegations Mount
Connie Pound, the owner of a day care in Griffin, was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted on three counts of second-degree child cruelty. The Spalding County jury acquitted her on three other counts and could not reach a decision on three additional charges, following evidence of abuse involving multiple infants and toddlers in her care from 2013 to 2022. In addition to her prison sentence, Pound will serve 10 years of probation upon release, as parents continue to come forward with allegations against her.
