Gunfire Erupts in Central Georgia After Livestock Block Road, One Dead and Deputy Injured

A 911 call about livestock obstructing a road in Eastman, Dodge County, on Tuesday morning resulted in a fatal confrontation between a man and a deputy, according to the GBI. When Deputy arrived at the scene around 9:40 a.m., he encountered Kim Lawong Crocker, 58, who was armed, leading to an exchange of gunfire that left Crocker dead and the deputy injured. The deputy was taken to the hospital, and the GBI is investigating the incident before passing the case to the Oconee Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office for review.
