Jesus Monroy, 20, was granted a $150,000 bond by Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge Tuwanda Williams after being indicted on additional charges related to the death of his 16-year-old girlfriend, Mia Campos, who was seven months pregnant at the time of her murder on July 14, 2024. Prosecutors allege that Monroy lured Campos away from her home under false pretenses and subsequently killed her, with evidence suggesting he had urged her to terminate her pregnancy. Campos' family expressed their devastation during the bond hearing, urging the court to deny Monroy's release as he awaits trial on multiple charges, including malice murder and statutory rape.
