Makilyn Chavon Manzie, a 21-year-old from Loganville, was convicted of malice murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole for the 2021 drive-by shooting that killed 20-year-old Devond Holmes and injured 16-year-old Demontries Rule. The shooting occurred on March 13, 2021, while Holmes and Rule were asleep in a car outside Rule's home. Evidence presented during the trial linked Manzie to the crime, including witness testimonies and surveillance footage, leading to his conviction after a jury deliberated for about four hours.
