Man Shoots at Gwinnett County Deputies Outside Jail While Armed and with Young Daughter in Shocking Confrontation

On Monday afternoon, Emmanuel Patrick Bearden, 44, of Peachtree Corners, allegedly opened fire on Gwinnett County deputies outside the jail while armed with multiple weapons and wearing body armor, with his young daughter present. Bearden was critically injured when deputies returned fire, but no deputies were harmed and the child was unharmed and later reunited with family. The GBI has charged Bearden with aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer, and further charges are expected as the investigation continues.
