Cortney Marie Bell, previously convicted of murdering her newborn daughter Caliyah, was released from prison after the Georgia Court of Appeals ruled in February 2022 that there was insufficient evidence to support the murder charge against her. However, she is now wanted by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office in Monticello on multiple drug-related charges, including possession of methamphetamine. Bell and Caliyah's father, Christopher Michael McNabb, were both convicted in 2019 for the baby's death, with McNabb receiving a life sentence for murder.
