Suspect in Fatal Shooting of Woman in Middle Georgia Dies After Deputy-Involved Shooting at Cemetery

A suspect identified as 43-year-old Catrell Ford was shot and killed by deputies at Rose Hill Cemetery in Middle Georgia on Tuesday night after he allegedly fatally shot a woman and injured a 79-year-old man earlier that day at a Family Dollar store on Jeffersonville Road. Ford, who had a significant criminal history including a prior conviction for voluntary manslaughter, was considered armed and dangerous by the sheriff's office. The incident is under investigation by the GBI, marking the 51st officer-involved shooting they have investigated this year.
