A teenager, Khamani Clayton, 19, was arrested at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus for carrying a stolen AR-15 and charged with theft by receiving stolen property and carrying weapons within a school safety zone. The campus, home to about 3,700 students, was placed on lockdown after reports of Clayton carrying a rifle near dormitories, prompting concerns of an active shooter. Authorities lifted the shelter in place after ensuring there was no ongoing threat, and Clayton was taken into custody without incident.
