Three Dangerous Inmates Escape DeKalb County Jail Prompting Manhunt
Three inmates from DeKalb County escaped from jail early Monday, prompting a search by local law enforcement. The inmates are identified as Stevenson Charles, 24, who is charged with murder and armed robbery; Yusuf Minor, 31, who is serving a life sentence for a previous murder and faces additional charges; and Naod Yohannes, 25, charged with simple assault and arson. The escape occurred less than three weeks after another inmate, Timothy Allen Shane, was found after escaping custody at Grady Memorial Hospital. Charles has a history of violent offenses, including a guilty plea in November 2024 for multiple serious crimes, resulting in a life sentence. Minor's life sentence includes an additional 25 years but he is eligible for parole. Yohannes was indicted in September 2024 for arson and criminal damage while in custody. The sheriff's office has warned the public that all three inmates may be armed and are considered dangerous, advising against approaching them. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is encouraged to contact the sheriff's office Fugitive Tip Line.
