KERRVILLE, Texas — Rescuers continued their search on Saturday for over two dozen children from Camp Mystic and others missing after a sudden flood from the Guadalupe River claimed at least 27 lives, including nine children. The storm, which caught many off guard during the Fourth of July holiday, caused the river to rise 26 feet in just 45 minutes, leading to extensive damage and prompting ongoing rescue efforts involving helicopters, boats, and drones. Officials faced scrutiny regarding the adequacy of warnings and preparations as the region remained under flash flood alerts due to continuing heavy rain.
