Tragic House Fire Claims Life of Heroic Woman in Northwest Atlanta

A large house fire in northwest Atlanta early Monday morning resulted in one fatality, according to officials. Firefighters were dispatched to a home on Madrona Street around 1:30 a.m. and discovered flames and smoke engulfing the structure. A woman who had alerted a man to the fire tragically died while attempting to escape, while the man was taken to a hospital in stable condition. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
