Tragic Shooting in Marietta Leaves Three Dead and Officer Critically Injured in Domestic Violence Incident

A Marietta man, Russell David Payne, is accused of killing his estranged wife, Jacklyn D. Payne, and her father, Eugene "Jack" Denny, before taking his own life at a home in Rock Spring, Georgia, on Saturday night. An off-duty Chickamauga police officer, Charles Dunn, who was a friend of the victims, was critically injured during the incident. Authorities reported that the situation unfolded after a 911 distress call was made, leading deputies to discover the three deceased individuals and Dunn, who was engaged with the shooter.
