A Transportation Security Administration officer, Matthew Gilbert, was arrested on Tuesday at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport for allegedly carrying a firearm beyond the main security checkpoint. The 58-year-old officer, who has been employed by TSA since January 2021, was charged with reckless conduct and released from Clayton County Jail on Thursday. TSA spokesman Mark Howell stated that Gilbert has been placed on leave and emphasized the agency's zero tolerance for misconduct, highlighting the ongoing safety priorities for both passengers and employees.
